Male Elderly Care Workers¡¯ Early Care Experience and Job - Focusing on the Characteristics of Gender Atypical Occupation -

Abstract
The present study understood through Van Mannan¡¯s interpretative phenomenological method of the early elderly care experience and job implications of male care workers in the elderly care labor market, which remains in the gender atypical occupation even after the socialization of elderly care. For this study, four male caregivers and four supervisors from home institutions for the elderly and elderly nursing hospitals participated in this study, and one-on-one in-person interviews were conducted with them. As a result of the study, the initial experience of caring for the elderly by male care workers was in corporeality, in relationality, in spatiality, and in the temporality . The meaning of their integrated jobs implies that they entered the elderly care jobs later than those struggling as a limited physical and time-limited. Therefore, the meaning of an integrated job included . As a result of this study, in the face of an aging population and a shortage of elder care workers worldwide, policy reforms are being implemented to support the adaptation of early male care workers and suggest the possibility of using them for future male care workers.
